Things have slowed noticeably since September. In spite of that their is still extraordinary pressure on homes priced under $200,000. Homes priced between $200,000-$300,000 has seen a slight increase in inventory but that will probably dissipate going into the first part of the year.
Lot inventory for anything under 40k is drying up. Soon the only lots available in nice areas will be 50-60k and up. Add to that the increasing cost of materials and building a home is getting pricey. Minimum now per sq ft to build is $130 but with higher grade finishes it can be a lot higher.
